The 993 variation of the Porsche 911 has always been regarded as the best of the great “air-cooled” era. These cars had the perfect blend of classic Porsche performance with modest creature comforts. Plus, with the introduction of the VarioRam engine in 1996, the 993 produced even more usable power. The normally aspirated, wide body 993s have always been a popular option, especially in more unusual colors.
This C4S was built on April 24th, 1996 and delivered new on May 29th, 1996 by Northland Porsche + Audi of Cincinnati, Ohio. Although the wide-body Porsches were nicely equipped with many standard options, this example was ordered with the following additional factory options:
- Motor sound package
- Racing style sport seats with hard backs
- Heated front seats
- HiFi Sound System
- Instrument carrier and lower dash in carbon fiber
- Carbon fiber aluminum shift knob and handbrake handle
- Porsche floor mats – black with yellow piping
- Bridgestone tires
- US standard emissions
The MSRP was $86,359.
The first owner appears to be the selling dealership who kept it in their inventory on display for about a year. It was sold to the first private owner for use on May 5th, 1997 with around 2,400-miles. This owner lived in Mercer Island, Washington and kept the car for about 5-years before selling it to a local SoCal resident on July 2nd, 2002 with 22k-miles. This owner kept the car for 4-years and serviced it at Pacific Porsche of Southbay in Southern California. He sold it to another local SoCal collector on September 28th, 2006 with 29k-miles. This owner kept the car in his collection for 8-years and eventually moved to Texas, taking the car with him. He only used it lightly before selling it to the current Houston collector on January 12th, 2016 with 32,340 miles.
The current owner is a fixture in the air-cooled Porsche scene and has a growing collection of significant 911s. As he is moving more towards the early air-cooled cars, he is realizing that he spends less time with this 993 than he thought. Of course, he is fastidious with service and has invested quite a bit making sure this low-mile example would drive as good as it looks.
Prior to purchasing the car, previous significant services include:

Recent service over the past 3-years/4k-miles includes:
- New rear seat belts (originals saved)

- Front crankshaft oil seal
- New distributor caps and rotors
- Replace ignition cable
- Spark plugs (NGK)
- Install Fister secondary performance mufflers
- Bilstein PSS10 suspension system/full alignment
- Refinish front bumper due to rock chips
- CQuartz ceramic paint protection
- Replaced rear stone guards
- Shifter linkage rod and bushings
- Last oil service (@35,600-miles)
In total $22k was recently invested.
As you can imagine, this C4S looks spectacular and obviously well cared-for. The paint is in excellent condition with minimal signs of use. All the steel panels are original and most are wearing their original paint. The left rear quarter has had some light touchup and blending, but no signs of accidents or repairs. Just superficial for scratches or something light. The hollow spoke 18” wheels have no curb rash and are wearing older Bridgestone tires with about half-tread remaining. They have no cracks or heaving shoulder wear. The brakes are at just over 50% life. The glass is all original, including the windshield. The windshield has a couple tiny chips that have been professionally repaired. All the exterior lights and rear spoiler function properly.
The interior is equally as tidy and indicative of a low-mile original 993. The leather is in great shape with no cracks or tears. The headliner, carpet, and door panels look fresh. The dash has no cracks or warping. All the gauges operate properly. The interior lights work. The A/C blows very cold (see pic). The power windows, mirrors, and sunroof all work.
This Porsche comes with owner’s manuals, maintenance book, extra key/remote (2 total), Porsche COA, original rear seat belts, space saver spare, jack, tool kit, air compressor, car cover, and many records dating back to new.
