When the 997 Porsche (911 replacement) was launched it was widely recognized by the automotive world as not only the best 911 ever built, but also truer to the original 911 design.  The wide fenders and separate headlight buckets made the car look like a natural continuation of the 993 Porsches.  And, sales have shown their popularity.  The 997 model is one of the best selling 911s ever.  Furthermore, by 2007, the pesky issues with the rear main seal and IMS bearing had been resolved making this one of the most reliable models built.

This C4S was built on January 30th, of 2008 and sold new on March 13th, 2008 by the Porsche dealer in Newport Beach, California (Newport Auto Center).

This Porsche was tastefully appointed with the following factory options:

  • 19” Carrera Classic Wheels
  • Three-Spoke Multi-Function Steering Wheel
  • Wheel Caps with Colored Crest
  • Module for Telephone PCM
  • Navigation Module for PCM
  • Bose Surround Sound System
  • Floor Mats in Interior Color
  • Leather Sport Seats
  • Stainless Steel Exhaust Pipes
  • Porsche Crest in Headrests
  • Seat Belts in Guards Red
  • Red Taillights
  • Instrument Cluster Dials in Silver
  • PASM Porsche Active Suspension Management
  • Xenon Lights

The first owner lived locally here in Orange County and frequently serviced the car at the local Porsche dealership.  In his 9-year/66k-mile of ownership, he serviced the car nearly a dozen times, including annual oil services and regular major services.  The car was then sold by Newport Beach Porsche to the current Orange County owner on May 5th, 2017 with just over 66k-miles.  This owner also has a Porsche 356 that has been part of his family for many decades.  He bought this car as a daily commuter, however now he’s retiring from the automotive industry at the end of this year. This Porsche has never been raced, abused, or modified.  The Porsche dealer performed their 100-point inspection before selling to this owner.  Although this owner only had the car just shy of 2-years/9k-miles, he still understood what it took to properly maintain a Porsche.  He had all services performed at C&F here in Costa Mesa, CA.  They have been a fixture in our area for over 4-decades and one of my favorite local shops for our Porsches.  Services recently performed include:

  • Regular oil services (at least 2)
  • Major service (5/18 @ 72k-miles)
  •             Oil service
  •             Battery
  •             Bosch spark plugs
  •             Engine air filter
  •             Cabin air filter
  •             General overall inspection
  • Fresh oil service (10/18 @ 74k-miles)
  • Replaced left rear tire sensor as well as that tire

This Porsche 997 is in fantastic condition with minimal signs of use.  The paint is in excellent shape with no major scratches, chips, or dents.  The car has  been inspected by a top local specialist as well as the Porsche dealer and no signs of damage or abuse were found.  Most of the paint is original and verified with a meter.  The driver door has had some paintwork with blending and clear onto that same side fenders as well as  the front bumper.  The paint has a few imperfections but really only visible if looking at it within a few inches under super high power compact detailing lights.  Under the right light, it has a slightly different tone as well.  Whatever the reason, it was superficial.  The CarFax® is clean as well.  All the glass is original, including the windshield and in great shape.  The wheels show just a few places of wear (see pics) and are wrapped in Bridgestone tires.  The fronts and left rear are over 75%-life remaining and the right rear is at about 50%-life.  The brakes are at over 75% life.  All the exterior lights work properly as does the rear wing.

The interior is equally as nice with hardly any signs of wear.  The leather seats have no tears or rips and just some very light wear on the driver exit bolster.  The rear seats, headliner, carpet, and door panels all look fresh.  The dash has no cracks.  All the gauges operate properly as well as the rest of the buttons.  The stereo, windows, sunroof, mirrors, interior lights, and A/C all work.  The cupholders broke (cover won’t stay up) so the owner affixed it closed.  This C4S looks more indicative of a car with a third of the miles.

It starts easily on the first try and holds an even idle.  The power feels strong with excellent throttle response.  The steering is precise and tracks straight.  Although the clutch is probably original, the pedal feel is spot on perfect and engages as it should with no indications of wear.  The brakes have a strong initial bite with no fading or pulling.  This Porsche 911 is in obviously well cared-for condition and it certainly drives as fresh as it looks.

California registration is paid through March of 2019.

This 997 comes with all the owner’s manuals/books, tools/tire repair kit, and an extra key.

Special Note

We appreciate the countless calls from brokers and dealers. As much as we would love to quickly “wholesale” this car to industry partners so they can make a quick profit, the car is on consignment (as are all of our offerings) and the owners have the final say.

If you have actually taken the time to read this far in our detailed description, I can’t imagine there are any questions you may have. However, if there is something I missed or you would prefer to hear the warm sound of a human voice (mine) reiterating the research I’ve provided above, I would be happy to help.

If you put our company name in Google (AutoKennel®) you will see that we have been a long-time part of the Porsche community and have worked extremely hard to earn the positive reputation you will find. Feel free to reach out to our local PCA chapter (www.pcaocr.org) and the board members are familiar with us. Most in the club have known us for most of our 25-year membership involvement. Of course, if you would like more references, you will find countless testimonials on our website as well.
