These are supposed to have a wing and PDK.
When the 991 GT3 was initially launched (2014 model year), Porsche created quite the stir by installing a dual clutch automatic transmission for the first time and not even offering a manual option. Their thought was that this was a race car for the street, so wouldn’t you want the best technology for speed and reliability? German reasoning is so pragmatic.
The enthusiast uproar (mostly from the U.S.) was loud enough to birth the 911 R in 2016. Up to that point in the GT3’s 18-year history, no one considered the idea of deleting the rear wing. The program’s success was so huge that Porsche now offers their GT3 with a “Touring” option, which deletes the fixed rear wing and only comes with a manual gearbox.
Almost a third of the latest GT3s delivered to North America have been Tourings. The number is lower than I expected. However, the owners must love them because fewer than 5% of the used GT3s currently for sale are Tourings.
Don’t ask my opinion as I’m still trying to get my head around cars with over 300 horsepower and ABS.

Porsche described the touring package of their latest GT3 model as a “wolf in sheep’s clothing.” Although a bit cliché, it’s hard to describe it any other way. Yes, it’s fast with 500 hp. However, the magic that enthralled drivers with the 911 R is once again recaptured in the touring model. It’s not about N-ring lap times, but a complete engaging driver experience. Approximately 2,300 GT3s were produced for North America over an 18-month time period. Of those, 725 are Touring models.
This GT3 Touring was built in January of 2018 and sold new on February 28th, 2018 by Porsche of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Factory options include:
- Touring Package
- Extended Range Fuel Tank (23.7 gal)
- Front Axle Lift System
- 6-Speed GT Sport Manual Transmission
- Luggage Net in Passenger Footwell
- Smoking Package
- Floor Mats
- Voice Control
The first owner intentionally had to keep the MSRP low due to Michigan insurance laws. If the price went above $150k, the insurance rate would triple. Ultimately, these Tourings come very well equipped with most of the sport and convenience options you could ever want. In fact, this is exactly how I would order one as well. The cloth insert seats are some of the most comfortable I’ve experienced. The carbon buckets may look cool, but they are seriously uncomfortable unless you are on the track. The touring is not made for the track. If you have to have the carbon buckets, they are readily available and the used prices have been coming down as owners are realizing they are just too hard to live with for street use.
During this owner’s care, he serviced the car three times at the selling Porsche dealership. He never tracked it and just used it for light weekend fair-weather touring. This first owner kept the car for about 19-months before selling it to the current Los Angeles enthusiast in September of 2019 with just shy of 1,000 miles. Before purchasing, this owner had the original selling Porsche dealer perform a thorough pre-purchase inspection, which it passed with flying colors. Upon arrival in SoCal, it passed California’s strict emissions test. For the past 11-months, the current owner has added about 1,000 miles. He only uses it for weekend driving around where he lives. Lately, he has realized that these cars are just too fast for the driving he likes to do and is reducing his collection to primarily vintage cars.
This Touring is fresh and like new. It’s been lightly used for some weekend Cars & Coffee events and always garaged. It’s never been tracked or abused and it was driven properly for the break-in period. The exterior looks flawless with no chips, nicks, or dents. All the paint is original and verified with a paint meter. The wheels are perfect with no curb rash and are wearing their original Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The fronts have about 75% life and the rears are a bit over half-life. The brakes are at near full life. Based on the condition of the brake pads, rotors, and tires, this Touring has lived a sheltered life. All the glass is original including the windshield. There have been no modifications done to this GT3. It’s exactly how it left the factory.
The interior is equally as pristine. The leather and cloth sport seats show minimal signs of wear. Even the door thresholds have hardly any scuffs. The carpet, headliner, door panels all look new. All the lights, gauges, buttons, etc. function properly. I found no flaws.
This Touring drives tight and feels new. Everything from the snappy throttle response to the precise gear shifts are on point. The driving experience is fantastic whether you are ripping through the gears on a local back road or simply using it for daily commuting.
California registration is current and paid to October of 2020.
The manufacturer warranty is good until February of 2022 or 50k total miles (whichever comes first).
This GT3 comes with 2 master keys, photo of the window sticker (we do not have the original), original owner’s manuals, original floor mats, air compressor, flat repair kit, tool kit, front license plate bracket, and center-lock wheel nut socket.

We appreciate the countless calls from brokers and dealers. As much as we would love to quickly “wholesale” this car to industry partners so they can make a quick profit, the car is on consignment (as are all of our offerings) and the owners have the final say.
If you have actually taken the time to read this far in our detailed description, I can’t imagine there are any questions you may have. However, if there is something I missed or you would prefer to hear the warm sound of a human voice (mine) reiterating the research I’ve provided above, I would be happy to help.
