The U.S. market never got the 30 Jahre “Jubilee Edition” 911. However, we did get the 964 Widebody Turbo-Look Coupe called the Carrera 4 Widebody. This was only available as a 1994 model year, and just 267 cars were delivered. Rumors were that these were leftover widebody cars originally designated as Turbos that were never ordered. Porsche officially called them Carrera 4 Wide-Body “30 Years of Excellence,” but their nickname was the “USA-Jubi.”
This 964 was built in September of 1993 and delivered new on March 31st, 1994, by Porsche Main Line of Edgemont, Pennsylvania. It was ordered with the following factory options:
- Cashmere Beige & Black Leather Seats
- Beige Velour Floor Mats
- AM/FM Radio with CD Player
- Wheel Center Caps with Porsche Crests
- Head Restraints w/Porsche Crest
- Headlight Washers
- Rear Window Wiper
- Full Power Seat Left
- Supple Leather Seats
The MSRP was $84,668, approximately $182,700 in today’s money.
The first owner was Barry Nelson of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. Barry kept this 964 for a couple of years and 14k miles before it came out to Southern California, where it was sold by Porsche of Newport Beach dealer to the current San Diego area owner on October 4th, 1996, with 16k miles.
Shortly after purchasing this Carrera 4 Wide Body, the current owner took the car to Loren Beggs of 911 Design in Montclair, California, for some significant upgrades. Loren did a full 993 Twin Turbo swap. This upgrade included a near-new 993 Twin Turbo engine with a complete exhaust system as well as the 6-speed manual transmission. Turbo “big red” brakes were also installed, along with 993 Turbo suspension. Kinesis custom 3-piece forged wheels were installed (16×12 and 16×9). The original Cup 1 wheels are available.* RS 3.8 Club Sport Rear spoiler was added to fit the inter-cooler and front RS-style splitters. Furthermore, 911 Design had the car certified by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) for smog certification. A BAR sticker with a barcode is installed in the passenger door jamb. This level of certification for California is nearly impossible to obtain today and can take months, if not years, as well as tens of thousands of dollars.
For the past 29 years, the owner of this 964 has added only 30k miles. Most of those miles were added in the first decade of ownership. For the past 18 years, this owner has only added a couple of thousand more miles, which were just short monthly drives, services, and smog checks. It’s always been registered and smog checked. Highlights of services performed during the current owner’s care include:
- Services at 911 Design (2/04)
- Repair power steering leak/new belt
- Program immobilizer
- Oil service
- Deck lid shocks
- New clutch and dual mass flywheel
- Battery
- Misc. repairs at 911 Design (5/05))
- Install 993TT oil tank anti drain back valve

- Recent services at 911 Design (4/25 @ 45,299 miles)
- Repair glove box
- Lubricate hood latch
- Checked wiring at thermostat for heater. Needs to be replaced
- Oil service
- New battery
- Rear sway bar mount
- Sway bar front drop links
- New Michelin tires
- Smog test/certify
After the most recent service, the mechanic noted that there is some light oil moisture/sweating from lack of use on the transmission, cam covers, and valve covers. He noted that the brake pads are at 10mm front/12mm rear, which is around 75% pad life. Also, the airbag light is on and the license plate lights don’t work. Upon receipt of this 964, we spent over 30 hours of detailing and preparation, which included the following:
- Heavy wash and paint decontamination
- 2 step paint correction
- Clean and condition all trim
- Hand clean engine bay and condition/dress rubber
- Steam clean trunk/remove carpet and steam carpet
- Heavy interior detail including condition leather and steam carpets
- Steam clean underside and condition plastic
- Removal of stone guards on fenders and then paint correct/cut & polish
- Install new stone guards
- Remove wheels and fully clean wheel wells
- Touch up paint where needed
Over $8k has recently been invested in preparing this 964 Widebody for sale.
The exterior is in very good condition and mostly original. The paint is original except the hood was repainted and the rear decklid was replaced to fit over the intercooler. The paint was verified with a paint meter. There are a few minor nicks and scuffs from age, and the original stone guards peeled some paint. New stone guards were applied. The glass is original, including the windshield and wearing the proper factory stampings. The light lenses and trim are in good shape and all the exterior lights work. The Kinesis wheels have no major curb rash and are wearing new Michelin tires. The brakes have about half-life remaining.
The interior is very clean and indicative of a low-mile example. The leather seats have no rips or tears and just some light wear marks on the exit bolsters. The center console/armrest is an aftermarket product from in period. It has a cup holder and storage inside. The rear seats look unused. The rear parcel shelf speaker grilles are missing. The headliner has no tears, rips, or sagging. The headliner lights do not work. The carpet has no major stains or heavy wear marks. The driver side floor mat is stained. The door panels have no pocket sagging issues and look fresh. The dash has no cracks or warping. All the main gauges work including the clock. The airbag light is on. The aftermarket boost gauge in the center console does not seem to work. The older aftermarket radio did work before we removed the auxiliary amplifier, CD changer, and rear seat subwoofer. The A/C system blows, but not cold. We will have our expert recharge it. The power windows, mirrors, and sunroof all work.
This 964 drives very much like a 993 Turbo. The power deliver is nearly identical. It pulls hard throughout the rev range with a bar of boost. The big red brakes have plenty of stopping power with no fading or pulling. The 6-speed manual shifts smoothly through all the gears with no grinding and the clutch engages properly with no slipping. The handling is crisp and direct with confidence inspiring grip, yet supple enough to absorb the road inconsistencies.
This Carrera 4 Wide Body is BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) certified with the proper decal/UPC code in the passenger door jamb and it just passed CA’s strict emissions/smog test. It has current registration paid to October of 2025.
This Porsche comes with 3 main keys, 1 valet key, 2 immobilizer remotes, owner’s manuals in vinyl case, maintenance booklet with option code sticker, original window sticker, some service receipts spanning last 20 years, aftermarket JL subwoofer, Denon CD changer, tool kit, jack, and space saver spare.
* Note: The original Cup 1 wheels are available for purchase separately.
**Note: VIN and other numbers withheld to protect against fraud. All numbers including VIN, Engine, and color will be provided to serious buyers.
