Like many other events that were canceled this year, our beloved Car Week on the Monterey Peninsula in August didn’t happen also. Jonesing for an automotive adventure, we set out on a 36 hour turn around driving event. My friend in his 1967 Volvo Amazon joined me on a gnarly dirt road adventure. After 4+ hours to cover 15-miles, we made it across the ridge of the Santa Barbara mountains. I’m pretty sure we are the only vintage European sports cars that have ever traversed that road. We arrived late into Carmel By The Sea, but it was worth the sunset blast up Hwy 1. The next morning at dawn, we met fellow @Driving While Awesome enthusiasts and headed to breakfast at Ragged Point. Back in Carmel, we said our goodbyes and enjoyed an empty Carmel Valley Road on our way back to Orange County, California.
