Driving While Awesome (DWA!) Rally XV

The goal is to “rally” everything!

This group of Santa Cruz, California based automotive enthusiasts know how to throw a driving party! For their 15th rally, 50+ folks and their unique rides spent 3 days exploring remote Northern Californian backroads.

I chose my 2004 Porsche 996.2 GT3 for this adventure.  I aim to drive all our “AutoKennel Museum” cars on at least one rally.

After nearly 4 years of ownership and fiddling with setup, it was time to christen my GT3 with its first multi-day driving tour.  I logged over 1,800 flawless miles and it far exceeded my expectations.

I’m very tempted to take it on more rallies, although it did feel like I brought an MMA fighter to a thumb-wrestling match.  Of course, I drove it on the optional dirt and gravel road section.  The fond memories were well worth a couple of minuscule paint chips.
