After driving hundreds of long-hood 911s, my favorites are the ‘70/’71 model years with the 2.2L engines. There is something special about how this motor revs and its visceral nature. The dog-leg gearbox is perfectly matched to the power. The way the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears form the perfect “V” pattern makes it a joy to shift.
This Porsche was built in August of 1970, and was ordered for tourist delivery at the factory by Marsha T. Nakashima of West Los Angeles, California. It was equipped with the following options:

Recently, this 911 was fitted with factory H1 headlights and the coveted 15×6 “deep 6” Fuchs wheels.
We believe Marsha Nakashima was involved in the entertainment industry, and was a film editor for the movie Blade Runner. She custom ordered this 911 and took tourist delivery at the factory on September 21st, 1970. She spent several months touring Europe in this 911 and had her first oil service completed at the Porsche dealer in Salzburg on September 28th, 1970 at 720 miles. In total, she added 2,119 miles by the time she delivered the car back to the factory for shipping. It was eventually delivered back to her in the U.S. on February 4th, 1971.
Marsha kept this 911 for the next 48 years/87k miles. During that time, she serviced it at Aero Porsche + Audi, the local Porsche dealer in Inglewood, California. She passed away in 2018 and a family friend helped find the next caretaker. A good friend and client of ours found the car and purchased it from Marsha’s estate attorney on October 4th, 2019 with 87,143 miles.

The refurbishment took about a year. During the engine work, the mechanic at Accutrack noted that there was some oil weeping around the engine case, but the rest of the seals were good. They applied some JB weld as extra precaution. The case has some light oil residue with a small drop, but nothing on the ground. In total, this owner invested over $35,000 into the mechanicals and $40,000 into the paint and body for a total of at least $75,000. The refurbishment finished sometime in 2021. For the last several years, this owner has used it as a weekend cruiser when he was in town. He continued to service it with Accutrack as needed. Upon receiving this 911 and during our vetting process, we had the following done in preparation for sale:
- Full detail including paint correction
- Paint polishing
- Ceramic coating for further protection
- Steam clean underside
- New hood shocks
- Hood and deck lid release handles

This 911T is in excellent condition. The fresh repaint looks great and has minimal signs of wear with no significant chips, scratches, or dents. The exterior trim is also very nice including all the deco and window trim. There is one slight paint crack on the left rear fender a ¼” above the left rear bumper behind the wheel. The glass is in good shape and appears mostly original, except for the windshield. The proper factory stampings are visible. There are no major scratches on the glass. The panel fitment/gaps are quite good. All the exterior lights work. The correct date-stamped Fuchs wheels have been properly restored and show minimal signs of use. They are wrapped in near-new/full-tread Pirelli CN36 tires.
The interior is also very nice and still retains a lot of originality. The seats are original as well as the covers. There are light signs of use. The rear seats look unused. The headliner is new and has no tears or sagging issues. The sun visors are original and slightly puffy, which is typical. The door panels are in good shape with new door pockets, which fit nicely with no warping. The carpet is original and in good shape with no stains and just some typical light wear, but nothing severe. The dash is new and has no cracks or warping issues. All the gauges work including the clock. The Becker radio also works and connects via Bluetooth to a capable mobile device.
This 911 is California registered to May 12th, 2025 with both correct original California blue plates from new . It’s also smog-exempt.

The view behind the wheel of a vintage Porsche blurs reality.
I took this 911 out for an early morning drive this past weekend. The road was empty. I was transported to a 1970 autumn day on a lonely road in the Austrian Alps.
I could almost see the golden hues of the late afternoon sun reflecting on an alpine lake. I could hear the rasp of the flat-six engine echoing off the tree-lined street.
The honey-kissed fall foliage flew off the pavement in this Porsche’s wake.
I imagined this was what the first owner might’ve experienced driving this 911 in Europe after taking Tourist Delivery in the fall of 1970.
She toured for a month and over 2,000 miles before shipping the car back to Southern California.
She enjoyed it for the next 48 years.
What experiences will be next for this 911? Where would you drive it?
Here’s the key.
