The 991 Porsche 4S was introduced as a 2013 model year.  With its wider stance and new all-wheel drive system, the journalists raved about everything except the price.  Although the base price was $105k, desirable options quickly added up.  Enthusiasts are drawn to this last generation of the normally aspirated (NA) 3.8L flat-six engines.  They produce 400hp and 325lb-ft. of torque and 0 to 60mph times are an impressive 3.7 seconds.

This C4S Coupe was built in October 2012 as a launch vehicle for Porsche Cars North America to showcase the all-new Carrera 4S model.   It was sold to the first owner on March 20th, 2013, by Sunset Porsche of Beaverton, Oregon.  It was very well optioned with the following:

  • Platinum Silver Metallic
  • Adaptive 18-way Sport Seats Plus
  • Burmester Audio/Sound System Package
  • Premium Package Plus
  • Ornamental Porsche Crest
  • Sport Exhaust System
  • Porsche Doppelkupplung Transmission (PDK)

The total MSRP was $133,695, equivalent to approximately $184,490 in today’s dollars.

The first owner was from Woodinville, Washington.  This owner kept this C4S for 6 years and 6k miles.  He traded it in at the end of 2019 to a Jaguar/Land Rover/Volvo dealer in the San Francisco Bay area.  This dealer prepared the car for sale and then sold it to the next owner from Northern California on February 18th, 2020, with 6,145 miles.

This 2nd owner is a long-time Porsche enthusiast who enjoys air-cooled cars.  This owner is one of the more diligent late-model Porsche caretakers I’ve met.  He not only serviced it regularly, but he was also proactive in repairing known issues before they became a problem.  He kept this C4S for 3 years and 27k miles.  He used this 911 as his part-time daily driver as well as for long weekend trips.  He even drove it across the country once.  As stated, the service he performed is more than I have seen from owners who’ve had a Porsche for more than a decade, let alone just a few years.

All maintenance performed on this Porsche was done at a certified Porsche dealer.  Highlights of services since this 911 was new include the following:

  • Regular service and inspection at Porsche of Bellevue, WA (3/16 @ 3,305 miles)
  • 10k mile service at Porsche of Bellevue, WA (5/17 @ 4,190 miles)
  • Service in preparation of sale (12/19 @ 5,709 miles)

We helped sell this 991 for this owner to the current SoCal owner on August 25th, 2023, with just shy of 34k miles.  For the past couple of years, this owner has used it lightly for weekend cruising.  He only added a couple of thousand miles, but always kept it in the garage as well as serviced.  He did a service at the Porsche dealer in Long Beach, as well as having the transmission sensors and switches replaced.  This is a big job and is becoming more common and necessary with old PDK transmissions.

  • 10k mile service at Porsche dealer (11/24 @ 35,815 miles)
    • Oil service
    • Multi-point inspection
    • Confirmed PDK unit had sensor issues
    • Brake fluid flush

The exterior of this C4S is spectacular and owned by a true enthusiast.  The paint looks near perfect with minimal signs of use.  All the metal panels are original, as verified by a paint meter.  The rear bumper was repainted before the current owner took delivery.  Visually, there is no difference.  There is a very light scratch on the left rear fender that’s difficult to see.  The glass is all original, including the windshield, and wears the proper factory stampings.  There are no major scratches or chips on the glass.  The light lenses, trim, and lower front spoiler are in excellent shape.  The wheels have no curb rash and are wearing Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires that are dated 2021 and installed in 2022.  The fronts have about 50% tread, and the rears have about 40% life remaining.  The brakes have about half their life remaining.  All the exterior lights work properly.

The interior is equally as nice and shows less wear than I’ve seen on much newer cars.  The ventilated front leather seats show hardly any wear and none of the typical holes plugged or discoloration.  There are no cracks or other issues.  The rear seats look unused, which they probably are.  The headliner, carpet, and door panels all look new.  These are the best door cards I’ve seen.  The 991.1 era cars have an epidemic issue with the door panel separating from the door at the top.  This one has had a very expensive repair done by Porsche.  The dash, gauges, and controls all look new with no signs of wear or issues with buttons.  All electrical functions operate properly, as do the interior lights.  The A/C and ventilated seats work perfectly, and the Burmester sound is one of the better factory audio systems I’ve heard.

This 991 drives exceptionally well.  It is so refined with a surprising amount of power.  It accelerates much quicker than I remember.  I drove it back-to-back with a 996 Turbo, and although different delivery, the power felt similar.  The sport exhaust sounds fantastic on this generation as well and is a must for this last generation’s normally aspirated flat-six engine.  The brakes have an excellent bite with no fading or pulling.  The steering is precise and predictable with tons of grip to inspire confidence on a twisty road.  The AWD system further enhances that confidence when the road gets wet or cold.  The PDK shifts flawlessly and lightning-fast regardless of which mode you’re in.  This 991 is a pleasure for daily city use while also being a joy on an open twisty road.

This Porsche passes California’s smog test and is currently registered to February 20th, 2026.

This C4S comes with two main keys, owner’s manuals with vinyl cover, maintenance booklet, tool kit, flat repair kit, air compressor, original window sticker, front license plate bracket, most service history, and a Porsche car cover.
