This is the 2nd Overcrest rally our AutoKennel® team (my dad and me) have been fortunate to join. In the end, the experience was a full week adventure. We left Southern California early on a Tuesday morning and met up with fellow rally travelers in Fallon, Nevada. We arrived the next day in Boise, Idaho where registration took place at Lupo Motors. Thursday morning started early with a 2 hour drive to the start, which was at the Leslie Gulch boat ramp in Jordan Valley, Oregon. We finished the day with a group dinner at Haines Steak House outside of Baker City, Oregon. Friday morning was another sunrise start, but this time up 7k feet high at Anthony Lakes Mountain Ski Resort. We spent the day zig-zagging west and enjoying the high desert of Eastern Oregon. We arrived “exhausted” in Madras, Oregon. Saturday morning was the classic autumn tour west across the Willamette National Forest. We arrived in Molalla, Oregon and were treated to a pop-up drive-in theater festival at Key Motors Auto Wrecking.
