Many regard the 996 GT3 as one of the purest sports cars on the road. It is a true iteration of the original 1973 Carrera RS: lightweight chassis with 380hp normally aspirated. With 960 units delivered to the U.S., it is quickly becoming a collector item. What is unique about these models is its race bred drive train (including dry sump system = no IMS bearing), highly tuned coil over suspension, seam welded chassis, wind tunnel tested aerodynamic aids, and lightweight features. This is one of the first true sport purpose built 911s the U.S. has received since the ’73 RS. Finding one that has not been abused, original, unmodified, and well serviced is becoming increasingly difficult.
This GT3 was manufactured on May 27th, 2003 and sold new on July 31st, 2003 by Schneider & Nelson Porsche of West Long Branch, New Jersey. It was ordered with the following options:
- Porsche crests in headrests
- Litronic/xenon headlamp package with headlamp washers
- Black mats – Porsche lettering
- Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB)
- Air conditioning with full climate control
- Metal door model insignia
- Brake/shifter carbon fiber/aluminum
- Thicker steering wheel
- Aluminum instrument dials
- Seat belts – speed yellow
The MSRP was $113,135.
Although not much is known about the early history of this GT3, it is clear that it was lightly used and obviously well cared-for. The current owner is a local Southern California Porsche enthusiast who purchased the car from the local Porsche dealer in August of 2014 with around 17k-miles. Over the past few thousand miles/5-years, he’s primarily maintained this GT3 at his local Porsche dealer. It was used lightly on the weekends and always garaged. Highlights of services include:
- New front chin spoiler
- Annual oil services regardless of miles
- Recent service/inspection at Porsche dealer (500-miles ago)
- Oil service
- Brake flush
- New floor mats
- Pirelli PZero tires (2k-miles ago)
- New Interstate battery
- 60k-mile/major service (@17k-miles)
- Spark plugs
- Cabin filter
- Air filter
- Fuel filter
- Oil service
The exterior of this GT3 looks terrific and shows minimal signs of wear. The paint on all the metal panels is original and verified with a meter (see pics). The front bumper was recently repainted due to minor scratches/scuffs. The passenger door has a small paint blemish and there is a small touch up area on the roof (see pics). The glass is in excellent condition, original, and wears its correct factory stampings. The windshield is original and has some light rash, but no major chips or cracks. The wheels look fantastic with no curb rash. They are wearing near new Pirelli PZero tires with at least 75% life left. The ceramic brakes look new with more than 75% life. The headlight lenses look crystal clear and there are no cracks on the rear lenses.
The interior is equally as nice and shows hardly any wear. The leather sport seats are in great shape and have no tears or rips. There is just typical light wear on the driver exit bolster. The Alcantera® headliner looks like new as do the door panels and carpet. The dash has no cracks. All the gauges and buttons operate properly. The A/C blows cold and the radio works properly.
This GT3 drives fantastic and feels very tight and fresh. It’s hard to believe it is a 15-year old Porsche. It starts easily with no excessive smoking and holds a steady idle. The throttle response is extremely quick. The brakes have incredible initial bite with no fading, pulling, or squeaking. The transmission shifts butter smooth with a nice positive feel when each gear is engaged. There is no grinding or slipping. The handling is crisp and almost intuitive. This GT3 is serviced and ready to be enjoyed.
California registration is paid through August of 2019 and it passes CA smog test.
This GT3 comes with all the owner’s manuals, extra keys (3-total), factory tools, wheel lock key, original tire fill product unopened, air compressor, Porsche COA/PPS, car cover, and all recent service receipts.

This vehicle is sold “as-is” with no warranty, written or implied. In some cases, the vehicle does have the remaining factory warranty still in place and will be described above if that is the case. All taxes and fees are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in the listed price. All vehicle sales will require a $170 administration fee. The vehicle listed is described to the best of our ability. The information is based on our own research and statements made to us by the previous owner(s). To the best of our knowledge, the above information is accurate. We are not responsible for errors in our description of options or any other details. The above-mentioned vehicle is used and can be expected to show some wear and tear. It is not a brand new vehicle. We do welcome all local pre-purchase inspections on vehicles in order to verify condition.
We appreciate the countless calls from brokers and dealers. As much as we would love to quickly “wholesale” this car to industry partners so they can make a quick profit, the car is on consignment (as are all of our offerings) and the owners have the final say.
If you have actually taken the time to read this far in our detailed description, I can’t imagine there are any questions you may have. However, if there is something I missed or you would prefer to hear the warm sound of a human voice (mine) reiterating the research I’ve provided above, I would be happy to help.
If you put our company name in Google (AutoKennel®) you will see that we have been a long-time part of the Porsche community and have worked extremely hard to earn the positive reputation you will find. Feel free to reach out to our local PCA chapter (www.pcaocr.org) and the board members are familiar with us. Most in the club have known us for most of our 25-year membership involvement. Of course, if you would like more references, you will find countless testimonials on our website as well.
