The “Turbo S” designation has always been saved for the flagship Porsche 911.  With its 3.8L flat-6 DFI engine producing a conservative 530 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, the Turbo S launches to 60 mph in just 3 seconds.  Yet, it still wears a full leather interior with all the luxury features you expect from Porsche’s Halo 911.  The Turbo S has a top speed of nearly 200 mph and can still manage 25 mpg while cruising the highway.

This Porsche was built in June of 2010 and sold new by a Porsche of Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 20th, 2010.  Although these cars come with a huge list of standard features including ceramic brakes (PCCB) and a 7-speed PDK transmission, this Turbo S was also ordered with the following additional factory options:

  • GT Silver Metallic
  • Aerokit Turbo
  • Side Skirts Painted in Exterior Color
  • Special Leather Cocoa

The mechanic found this Turbo S in excellent condition with no signs of any prior damage or repairs.  He did note that the engine mounts were starting to show slight wear but did not need replacement at this time.

The exterior of this Turbo S is in great shape well, cared for, and always garaged.  The paint on all the metal panels appears to be original and verified with a paint meter.  All the painted surfaces and headlights have been protected with PPF recently.  There are no signs of excessive wear with no major chips or scratches.  The front lower painted spoiler lip has some typical scuffing on the underside and the edges near the tires protrude a bit due to typical broken clips.  A new factory spoiler lip is included.  All the glass is original, including the windshield, and wears the proper factory stampings.  There are no significant blemishes on the glass and they have a light tint to help preserve the interior and keep it cool.  All the exterior lights work and the lenses have no cracks or discoloration.

The RS Spyder wheels are in good shape with no significant curb rash and are wearing Michelin 4S tires installed 5 months/3k miles ago.  They appear to have between 50% and 75% life remaining.  The ceramic brake rotors look near new with the front pads measuring near full-life and the rear pads at more than half-life remaining.  The yellow paint on the brake calipers have a few spots where the clearcoat has faded.

The interior is equally as nice with minimal signs of use.  The Special Cocoa Full Leather interior with Makassar wood is unique and subtle contrast compared with the typical black interiors.  The front ventilated seats show minimal signs of wear with no major tears or heavy wear.  There is some very mild driver seat exit bolster wear as well as light scuffs on the plastic entry threshold.  The rear seats look unused.  The Alcantara headliner has no tears, stains, or sagging issues.  The carpet and door panels are also in good shape with no major blemishes, heavy wear marks, or stains.  The wood trim is in excellent condition with one slight crack by the ashtray on the center console.  The dash has no cracks or warping/leather shrinkage issues and all the gauges work properly.  All the power functions, switches, and buttons operate properly.  The factory PCM stereo unit works along with the navigation system and the A/C system blows cold.

This Turbo S is impressively quick for a 15-year-old Porsche.  It’s surprising how much power it has and how fast the revs build.  Shifting is lightning-quick.  The brakes have a tremendous bite with no fading or pulling.  Plus, they leave no brake dust.  There is a slight squeak of the ceramic brakes when gentle stopping, which is common.  Handling is precise and predictable, yet compliant on uneven road surfaces.  Unlike the next generation Turbo S, this one still has a great visceral vibe to it and is just as fun on a twisting road as it is comfortable on the open highway.

The DME (vehicle computer, which logs engine revs) was checked, and although PDK cars can’t have a miss-shift over-revs beyond level 1 (at redline).  It only hit redline a few times with the last time being nearly 2k miles ago.

  • Level 1 (redline – 6,800 rpm): 2.4 seconds total
  • Level 2: 0
  • Level 3: 0
  • Level 4: 0
  • Level 5: 0
  • Level 6: 0

Furthermore, this Carrera has averaged only 29 mph over its entire life.

California registration is paid to September of 2025 and it just passed California’s strict smog test.

This Porsche comes with 2 main keys, original owner’s manuals with vinyl cover, maintenance booklet with dealer stamps, tool kit, centerlock socket tool, flat tire repair kit, air compressor, recent service records, CocoMats® (4 plus trunk mat), mp3 player Bluetooth module, stock exhaust center section, and 2 new (in the bag) unpainted front spoiler lips from Porsche.

This is one of my favorite Porsche interiors.

Others have referred to this unique leather/wood interior as a lawyer’s office, private library, or speakeasy club.

When I tell people that Porsche calls it “Special Full Leather Cocoa with Extended Makassar Wood Package” they’ve responded with edgier comebacks.

The color combination is understated and unique.

It perfectly reflects the personality and performance of this Turbo S.

It is a 200mph version of “speak softly and carry a big leather swaddled Makassar wood stick.”
